The Tian'an Men Square is a large city square in the center of Beijing, China and largest city central square in the world, named after the Tiananmen Gate (Gate of Heavenly Peace) located to its North, separating it from the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several important events in Chinese history.
The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the centre of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political centerof Chinese government.
After that, continue to Jingshan Park to have a bird view of the entire Forbidden City.
After enjoy a authentic Chinese lunch in a nice local restaurant, you will visit the old Beijing hutongs. In Beijing, hutongs are alleys formed by lines of siheyuan, traditional courtyard residences. Many neighbourhoods were formed by joining one siheyuan to another to form a hutong, and then joining one hutong to another. The word hutong is also used to refer to such neighbourhoods.Since the mid-20th century, the number of Beijing hutongs has dropped dramatically as they are demolished to make way for new roads and buildings. More recently, some hutongs have been designated as protected areas in an attempt to preserve this aspect of Chinese cultural history.
Then visit the Lama Temple. A series of beautiful pavilions comprise this Mongolian-Tibetan yellow-sect temple, which features an impressive fifty-four-foot (25m) high Buddha carved from one piece of Tibetan sandalwood.  iIt is a functionings temple and monastery of the Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism.  Building work on the Yonghegong Temple started in 1694. The temple is said to have survived the Cultural Revolution due to the intervention of Prime Minister Zhou Enlai. It was reopened to the public in 1981.It is an excellent place to see Buddhism practiced.
