Forbidden City/Palace Museum

Forbidden City or The Palace Museum,constructed from 1406 to 1420,was the royal palace for the Ming and Qing dynasties.It is the largest and most well-preserved complex of palaces in China,as well as the largest group of palaces in the world.Covering an area of 720,000 square meters (about 178 acres). 24 emperors ruled from the Forbidden City after it was completed in 1420.The Forbidden City holds a great number of hisotrical and cultural relics as well as precious wokrs of art.
